The Belmont Festival

Thursday begins the three day Belmont Festival with three days of the finest racing in North America featuring many graded stakes races and the 150th running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday at the classic distance of 1 1/2 miles. This years edition is a triple crown possibility as Justify, the winner of the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes attempts to earn the 13th triple crown.

I will be attending all three days and will be looking for situations where i can take advantage of any edges available with the huge wagering pools. Wish me luck because it is always a test of discipline and patience waiting for the right spots to pull the trigger on these special event racing days where value can be disguised in the midst of the wagering activity.

All the best!

Seven Day Report

A loss of 2.4 points on the account for the past week which in retrospect was a slow betting week. I am once again concentrating on the value in the place and show pools to reduce the losing runs associated with the straight and exotic wagering formats.

Looks to be a busy weekend of action as I will attending the races at beautiful Belmont Park Saturday. Next Saturday Justify will be attempting to win the Triple Crown with the 11/2 Belmont Stakes the third leg of the series for 3 year olds.

The Roller Coaster Ride Continues

A loss of 24.78 points on the account for the past two weeks mostly accounting my attempt to defeat the Preakness Stakes winner last Saturday. I am making good wagers, well thought out value advantage wagers. My problem is increasing my point investment and not cashing on these bets. I must formulate a maximum wager amount and stick to a more disciplined methodical wagering strategy for the long-term.

All the best!!!

Win Some Lose Some

A gain of 10.15 points on the account the past four days with a few value advantage wagers that included a 6/1 winner. Plenty of work needed to crack the 11 race card at Belmont Park tomorrow.

Though i had no intentions of wagering on this Monday a Pop-Up wager caught my attention in the Will Rogers Downs 7th race. A maiden claiming event the #3 horse Classy Haze received much support in the Doubles and opened up the race favorite.  Ridden by top jockey (19%) Bryan McNeil the horse went off at 5/1 and led the entire 1 1/16 race until the last steps beaten by a 66/1 shot at the wire. My win/show wager produced a small 1.98 profit on the account in what proved to be quite a "live selection"...proving even the real live bets lose!!!

Derby Beating

A loss of 35.13 points for the past five days highlighted by a big Kentucky Derby loss. Where do i start??? Had a strong opinion on two horses in the Kentucky derby field and wagered both to win enthusiastically in the 20 horse field. I ran second and third beaten by the race favorite Justify , who earned the victory attending to fast fractions through out the 1 1/4 race on a sloppy surface. No regrets made a good wager resulting in a loss, the only problem is my tendency to raise my wager amounts on these big event betting cards.

I will regroup and take a few days off and pick up the action when Belmont Park Day 8 arrives on Thursday

All the best
